The wrath of Hurricane Florence is still being felt in Bladen County on Sunday evening. Many homes and businesses have been damaged or destroyed. Flooding is occurring in many communities throughout Bladen County.

Water rescues were made in Bladenboro, Clarkton and Elizabethtown.

Many residents in Bladen County are being displaced from their homes along the Cape Fear River as mandatory evacuations are in effect for Kelly and Rowan as well as those who reside all along the Cape Fear River in Bladen County and those who reside on Burney Road, River Road and Tar Heel Ferry Road.

Many roads are flooded making travel in the county difficult. Residents are asked to stay off the roadways unless it is an emergency.

Bladen County remains under a curfew from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. daily.
