Recently there was another shooting in the Elizabethtown area. Lt. D. Cheshire, with the Elizabethtown Police Department, confirmed shots fired in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Gum Street lead to an injury.
The victim was an underage male. He was treated for his injury at a hospital and released hours later, according to the report.
“We did interview people in the vicinity of the crime scene,” Cheshire stated. At this time, there have been no arrests made in connection with the crime. Anyone with information may call 910-862-3125.
This year there have been multiple shootings in Elizabethtown and Bladen County.
Two shootings on Blue Moon Drive, in Elizabethtown, are still under investigation. One of the crimes ended in the death of Ricky Franklin Mintz. The fatal shooting of Mintz took place in March of 2020.
