Ludlum, Abbey to Receive VFW Quilt of Valor
Two Bladen County residents will receive the Veteran of Foreign Wars’ Quilt of Valor award during a ceremony scheduled Saturday, April 15 at noon.
The ceremony will be held at the VFW Hall at 109 Hill Street in Elizabethtown. It is open to the public.
Bobby R. Ludlum entered the United States Air Force in 1960 and will be recognized for his 30 years of active-duty military service. Ludlum, who lives in Bladenboro, served numerous tours of duty in Vietnam and several other locations around the world.
Amanda Smith Abbey served in the Army with assignments at the 10th Mountain Division and in Korea. She lives in Elizabethtown.
