Gov. Pat McCrory named Southport attorney Jason Disbrow as District Court Judge for the 13th District which is comprised Bladen, Brunswick and Columbus counties.
The announcement was made Tuesday. Disbrow will fill the vacancy created when Judge Marion Warren was appointed to serve as director of the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. That term expires in November 2016.
According to reports, Disbrow has also filed to seek election to the District Court Judge for District 13.
He is a member of the law firm of Stiller & Disbrow.
According to reports, he is scheduled to receive his oath of office on Friday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Brunswick County Courthouse.
