Moores Creek National Battlefield will be holding a “Christmas in the Colonies” event on Saturday, Dec. 7. Park staff, volunteers, and other historians will be offering a variety of programs and demonstrations focused on the celebration of Christmas in the 18th century. The event will be from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Demonstrations will include Christmas music with John Golden from 1:30 until 3 p.m., as well as playing with 18th century toys and games, Christmas cooking, writing with quill and ink, candlemaking, musket demonstrations, living historians from Tryon Palace and the Burgwin-Wright House, and more.
Also, the demonstration area will be decorated for Christmas.
The event is free and open to the public.
