Junior Ranger Day at Moores Creek National Battlefield.

Spread the love

Currie, NC– On Saturday November 2, 2019, from 10 am – 3 pm, Moores Creek National Battlefield will be holding a “US Military through the Ages” event.

Living historians will fill the battlefield and demonstration area portraying soldiers from the American Revolution, Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I and II, and Vietnam. These historians will offer a small glimpse into the world of these soldiers by showing equipment they would have carried, as well as sharing stories about the soldiers who served their country during these eras. They also will be demonstrating both 18th and 19th century muskets and rifles, as well as 18th century artillery. In addition, several 18th century civilian demonstrations will be offered such as toys and games, medicine, paymaster, and so much more!

Historic weapons demonstrations will be offered on the hour and the half hour starting at 10:00 am with the last program at 2:30 pm.  The demonstrations will be alternating between 18th century muskets and rifles, 19th century small arms, and 18th century artillery.

The event is FREE and OPEN to the public.
