The North Carolina Department of Transportation has issued an updated list of Bladen County road openings and closings. They are as follows:
OPENINGS:
Sunset Drive
Sunset Drive is open to traffic. Patching will be performed at a later date.
CLOSINGS:
Center Road
Center Road is closed at a location 0.44 miles south of Marsh Road in order to replace a large crossline pipe. The road will be closed through the end of the week.
Old Abbottsburg Road
Old Abbottsburg Road is closed 0.72 miles east of Grimsley Farm Road in order to replace a large crossline damaged by the hurricane. The road will remain closed through late Friday of next week.
Forrest Drive
Forest Drive is closed 0.09 miles north of Galeed Church Road in order to begin the last of four crossline replacements. The road will be closed through Thursday.
Old NC 41
Old NC 41 is closed 0.55 miles west of NC 131 in order to replace crosslines damaged by the hurricane. The road will remain closed through late next week.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Zion Hill Church Road
Beginning Monday, June 12 we plan to close Zion Hill Church Road just east of Butler Mill Road in order to replace a crossline pipe. The road will remain closed through the end of next week.
Richardson Road
Beginning Monday, June 12 we plan to close Richardson Road between NC 211 Business and the CSX Railroad in order to replace several crossline pipes and install one new one. The road will be closed all next week with work possibly rolling into the following week (depending upon weather).
ELWELL FERRY:
The Elwell Ferry is operating (operations resumed this morning).
