Elwell Ferry
A Staff Report
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) announced an update on road closings. Today, Faye Boney with NCDOT confirmed the ferry closing has been extended due to high water. Following is the update released today.
CLOSED:
US Highway 701N:
All traffic has been routed to the new bridge. The closure has a WIDE LOAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTION.
Elwell Ferry:
Closed starting at 12:00 pm December 7, 2023, and will re-open at 7:00 am, January 11, 2024, for high water.
