The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced that traffic will be switched to a temporary onsite detour Saturday on N.C. 11 over the White Oak Canal bridge.
The switch is expected to begin at 7 a.m. and be completed by 6 p.m. Saturday, July 15. The detour runs parallel with the existing roadway.
The closure is needed for the demolition and reconstruction of Bridge #51 over White Oak Canal, NCDOT says. The new bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic no later than June 11, 2025.
