Thoughts While ShavingFirst things first … 4/100th of an inch of rain over the past few hours at the local weather station … Patchy fog today before 8 a.m., with a high near 92 … Tonight, mostly clear, low around 69. Wednesday, sunny, with a high near 94. Same type weather thru Thursday … Then a slight chance (30%) of rain … Friday thru Monday … Enjoy…

If you enjoy good health, get on your knees and give thanks … So many, especially senior citizens, are strugglin’ … and their families are as well, attempting to take care of them … If they are fortunate enough to have family nearby.

Saw a small deer enjoying ‘a treat’ late yesterday … may have weighed 40 pounds or less … sampling what appeared to be a peanut patch, maybe a bean field…

Major League All-Star game later today in Seattle … Game time in the state of Washington is 4:30 p.m., ’bout dark-thirty east coast time … Tickets, if any left, range from $269 to $3,200 … from not so good to very good.

Vladimar Guerrero Jr. … Toronto Blue Jays slugger, is the MLB Home Run slugger of the year, winning last evening in Seattle…

Back in Bladen County, Lock and Dam #2 is closed and will hopefully re-open in about a month … according to the U.S. Corps of Engineers.

No winner in last night’s PowerBall drawing. Last winner was April 19 when a ticket in Ohio produced a prize of $252 million … 34 straight drawings without a jackpot winner.

Mega Millions drawing tonight, worth over $480 million … Pocket full of cash and a million problems … but many willing to take the chance.

Former East Bladen Eagle Larrell Murchison is a good Ambassador for the area … A positive influence on young and old alike … Soon to begin, hopefully, another good year in the NFL … now playing on the West Coast … LA Rams if my memory is good.

Every time I see a tobacco field … I remember the days of 3 or 4 acres of the ‘golden weed” as the son of a sharecropper … Want to say … Thank you Lord for helping me choose a different career … Nothing wrong with farming, the game has changed … No more cropping sand lugs, by hand, hanging in a barn, eventually getting to the warehouse to see what someone would pay for it…

I know … “Always have an attitude of gratitude.” Sterling S. Brown

“I think gratitude is a big thing. It puts you in a place where you are humble.” Andra Day

“Gratitude bestows reverence … changing forever how we experience life and the world.” John Milton
