Thoughts While ShavingJust about every conversation begins with the weather, sooooo, how about the weather?  High today near 80 with a 40 percent chance of rain, low tonight around 65 with a 50 percent chance of rain.  High Wednesday near 74 with 50 percent chance or ‘wet stuff’.  Cooler temps Wednesday night with lows around 49, high in the mid 60s on Thursday and low Thursday night around 44 degrees.  Cool streak could last a few days.

As election day draws near, just about everything related to politics causes more confusion.  Our ‘political fuse’ is short.  It’s just another election season.  It comes around every two years for county, state and national elections.  Early voting begins tomorrow.  Three more weeks of charges and counter-chargers and we will be OK.  Vote for the individual you think is best suited for the job, period.

On federal issues, google Fact Check or check Snoops for the rest of the story, may be others, but two I am aware of.

I remember elections in the 60s, 70s and 80s.  Just as rambunctious as today.  There were experts at every country store in the county.  Conversations were more interesting when ‘home-made beverages’ were introduced to the conversations.

As a candidate in those days, running for County Commissioner, county-wide against 10 or 12 wanna-bes, some places I would not stop.  There was no way to persuade the experts, some with a little ‘joy-juice’ that I should be one of their top three picks for the office.  Great education, led the ticket in two separate elections, Primary and General.  Sometimes, running for office was more fun than serving.  Met a lot of good folks.

Revival services continue at Wesley’s Chapel UMC at 7 PM.  Rev. Tim Reaves is the guest speaker.  All are welcomed.

The consensus after an election is that 100 percent of Americans think 50 percent of Americans have lost their minds.

The worst part about working for the department of unemployment is when you get fired you still have to show up the next day.

A fine is a tax for doing wrong.  A tax is a fine for doing well.
