The preliminary round is over and the judges votes have been tabulated for the Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen competition. Meri-Morgan Lochner, Miss Cumberland County Outstanding Teen, was declared the winner of the preliminary round.

She won the Evening Gown/On Stage Question award and Miss Wilmington Christen Oliver won the talent competition.

Locally, Miss Bladenboro Haven Cashwell completed her private interview with the judges and competed in the talent portion of competition on Tuesday, according to the Miss Bladenboro Facebook page.  She continues on her journey to become the next Miss North Carolina today.

Miss Bladenboro Princess Anna Grace Allen has also been busy with appearances and competing in the Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen competition.

Sunday Allen, who is chaperoning the ladies, said both Haven and Anna Grace are doing well.

In preliminary competition for the Miss North Carolina pageant there were contestants from the region who received honors.

The finalists for the Quality of Life award were Miss Clayton Ashton Gill, Miss Charlotte Allison Farris, Miss Greater Carolina Ashley Underhill, Miss Wilmington Victoria Huggins, and Miss Kinston Lenoir County Lily Falconer.

Miss Winston-Salem Kacy Lee won the talent preliminary competition and the sponsor of the year award was given to Rufus Singleton. 

The Beth Christine Stovall Music Scholarship was awarded to Miss Capital City Nia Franklin.
