Eastpointe MCO  is hosting a Recovery Coach Academy in Sampson County (Clinton) next week May 21st through May 25th. The class is from 9 a.m.until 4 p.m. All participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

It is a Certification Board Approved Training Program. It is an innovative new approach to healing people’s lives that is unlike any other training. It offers participants the once-in-a lifetime experience to gain new knowledge, be challenged, and reap valuable rewards, providing the essential learning, tools and resources needed to become an effective recover coach. The class teaches the following foundational principals:

*A Person is in recovery when they say they are.

*There are many pathways to recovery.

*Focus is on the recovery potential, not pathology.

*Err on the side of the recoveree

*Err on the side of being generous

This is a facilitated process to better understand people living with Substance Use Disorder and how best to meet them where they are. It’s not just for people in recovery. This is a way to empower family members, allies and other professionals.
