Elizabethtown, NC, July 17, 2024 – The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has announced the temporary closure of Mercer Mill Brown Marsh Road (SR 1700) for essential maintenance work.
The closure will take place starting Tuesday, July 16th at 1:30 PM and will continue through Thursday, July 18th until 5:00 PM. This section of Mercer Mill Brown Marsh Road is located 0.30 miles north of Elkton Road (1710). The primary reason for this closure is to facilitate the replacement of a crossline.
Residents and travelers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid any inconvenience. Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the affected area. NCDOT appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as they work to improve the infrastructure for safer travel.
