Elizabethtown, NC – In a momentous stride towards remembering a treasured community member, the Sayaun Dent Memorial Foundation proudly announces its newly acquired 501c3 nonprofit status. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has officially recognized the foundation as a charitable organization, a testament to its dedication to serving the community.

Dr. Crystal Rogers, President, and Founder of the Sayaun Dent Memorial Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I am deeply thankful for the unwavering commitment of our Board of Directors, the invaluable support of our donors, and the steadfast backing of our community. Together, we honor Sayaun’s legacy of academic excellence, athletic achievement, and love.”

The foundation, established to commemorate the life of Sayaun Dent, a shining example of excellence in academics and athletics, is now poised to continue making a meaningful impact even after his untimely death. Dr. Rogers affirmed, “The future of the foundation is bright, and we are fully prepared to advance our mission in service of our communities, The Say Way!”

Immediate priorities for the foundation include:

  • Expanding sponsorship opportunities.
  • Gearing up for the 2024 academic and athletic scholarship programs.
  • Introducing a hardship assistance initiative.

This initiative aims to provide support to single-parent families in the community facing financial challenges.
