Shooting leaves Elizabethtown Man In Critical Condition

On Monday, May 25, at approximately 1:14 a.m., the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a subject being shot at 93 Blue Moon Drive near Elizabethtown. Officers arrived on the scene and found 35-year old, James Henry Davis of Blue Moon Drive hit by gunfire approximately (5) times.

Davis was taken to Cape Fear Valley- Bladen County Hospital and later transferred and is critical condition.

There are no further details at this time about Monday’s shooting. The investigation is continuing, according to the Sheriff’s Office. There are children who live in the neighborhood, but none were reported to be at the residence at the time of the alleged crime.

This is the second shooting in recent months on Blue Moon Drive in Elizabethtown.

Ricky Franklin Mintz killed in March 2020 on Blue Moon Drive in Elizabethtown, NC

On March 2, 2020 at approximately 7:21 p. m., Bladen County 911 received a call for a gun shot wound on Blue Moon Drive. When Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene 31 year old, Ricky Franklin Mintz, of  Elizabethtown was found shot by unknown persons.

Mintz was transported to Cape Fear Valley- Bladen County Hospital, where he died of his injuries. An autopsy was requested to examine the extent of his injuries for the murder investigation.
