With four generations and over 30 years of experience, Ellis Robeson Electric provides quality work to its customers in Bladen County and beyond. Kevin Robeson, third generation and owner since 1999, explained, “a father’s help and love is what led me to leave the business in Ellis’s name.”

Kevin has been a licensed Electrician since 1999. He reminisced, “I can remember being picked up after school and going to many jobs with my Grandfather, Oscar Thompson. This is where it started.” He continued, “He was the greatest! I was happy to be with him, and didn’t even know I was learning.”

All businesses go through tough times. Kevin shared, “1999 was an extremely tough year for our family. My father passed away from battling cancer, and my Grandfather passed away just a week after, leaving us lost in the month of June, 1999.” He continued, “See, I didn’t realize what was happening, but God did. God had been molding me all long for what was in store. I

married my beautiful wife, Thelma, and had the greatest mom ever. Having them support me… God was still working.”

Kevin’s grandfather taught many the trade of electrical and plumbing, according to Kevin. Kevin added, “His son and his sons-in-law have carried his teaching into helping so many people of Bladen County.”

Ellis Robeson, father of current owner Kevin Robeson and the namesake of the business, received his electrical licenses in 1983. Kevin shared, “He was proud and definitely worked so hard to carry on what his Father-in-Law had instilled in him. The business grew as any business should with such efforts!”

Ellis Robeson Electric, Inc. offers a wide variety of Electrical work for Bladen and surrounding counties; Installing electrical to new homes and businesses, as well as remodeling and light or outlet replacement and/or repairs. Kevin added, “Generators have also become a large part of our business in the past several years. With this we have been able to overcome many obstacles as a business.”

The fourth generation at Ellis Robeson Electric, Inc. is up and coming. Channing, Kevin’s oldest son, is currently certified as a Generac Warranty and Service Technician. He will also be taking the State Boards for his licensing, according to his father.

Ashton, Kevin’s younger son, is currently working with the crews and managing the shop and vehicles to keep everyone prepared. Kevin added with pride, “Did I mention they are both Eagle Scouts?!”

“With God still at work, and with his time and plan, our business could grow to a 4th generation Electrical Company with quality work and over 30 years experience,” owner, Kevin, stated.
