West Bladen Team; Two East Bladen Golfers Advance to Regionals

WALLACE – The West Bladen golf team and East Bladen’s Bailey Williams and Chase Knight have all qualified for the NCHSAA Class 2A MidEast Regionals. The qualifiers were announced Monday following the Southeastern Athletic Conference’s championship match at River Landing.

Midway won Monday’s match with a 302 total and Raider Logan Marley captured individual medalist honors with a 71. Clinton was 2nd with a 340 total, and West Bladen and East Bladen tied for 3rd place with matching 359 scores.

West Bladen was the 2nd team qualifier because of a 361 average score for the 8 matches during the season. Clinton’s 365 average finished ahead of East Bladen’s 370 to secure the 3rd and final team berth in the regionals for the Dark Horses.

Williams with an 89.63 individual average for the season and Knight with an 89.75 average qualified for individual regional berths.

Monday’s West Bladen scores were: Isaac Mendoza (84), Nolan Sessoms (85), Daniel Gustafson (92), Trenton Meares (98) and Colin Britt (115).

Monday’s East Bladen scores were: Bailey Williams (86), Chase Knight (89), Caleb Scruggins (90), Tony Todd (94) and Conner Smith (111).

The MidEast Regional will be played Monday, May 8th at The River Golf Club at Lake Royale; 170 Clear Water Rd; Louisburg, NC 27549. Play will begin at 9 a.m.
