Michael Hal Shaw, II, a former Bladen County Sheriff’s Deputy, has received support from a large group in his community since his indictment. For more information about Shaw’s indictment, read more at Grand Jury Indicts Bladen County Sheriff’s Deputy.

A Facebook group named “Stand Behind Bull Shaw” was created by Shala Cox a week ago, and has quickly grown. The group now has almost two thousand members who are showing their support for Shaw.

The group has several plans to raise money for the Shaw family — yard signs, t-shirts, “I’ve Got Your Six” barbecue plate sale on November 20th, and “Deck the Halls” fundraiser in December with dinner, dancing, and a silent auction.

Shala Cox stated, “Bull has come to so many peoples’ sides when they needed it the most, and as a community Bull needs us now.”

At the “I’ve Got Your Six” barbecue plate sale, donations will be accepted for the barbecue plates, and all proceeds will go to the Shaw family. The fundraiser will be located at Foundation Church in Elizabethtown on November 20th. Long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts, decals, and hoodies are for sale through Sign Logic in Elizabethtown.

The group wishes to “paint the town blue” by decorating Elizabethtown with blue bows to raise awareness for Shaw.

According to Cox, the biggest event they have planned is the “Deck the Halls” fundraiser, which will be at “The Venue” in White Lake. The dinner-and-show event is planned to take place on December 4, 2021. The group is seeking donations for the silent auction items. All proceeds go to the Shaw family.
