Sunday Fun Day held at White Lake under sunny skies

Spread the love

Beautiful Carolina blue skies were the order of the day along with temperatures soaring into the 90s, brought folks out for the Sunday Fun Day event at the lot across from the Scotchman on US 701 at White Lake.

The event included a classic car show, vendors, gospel music, and a lawn mower tractor pull.

The White Lake Fire Department provided food and drinks for purchase. The menu items included such tasty treats as ribbon fries, home fries, pork loin sandwiches, Nachos and Cheese, and boiled peanuts.

Folks brought lawn chairs and spent the afternoon cheering on their favorite driver in the tractor pull. The Lumber River Pullers put on quite a show. These weren’t ordinary lawn mowers. These machines were finely tuned and weighted to speed down a 300-foot dirt track pulling a weighted machine. The lawn mower that traveled the greatest distance was crowned the winner of each class.

The Classic Cruisers Car Club held a car show. All manner of classic cars and trucks were on display bringing back memories of yesteryear for some folks.

If classic cars or lawn mower pulling weren’t enough folks were able to shop with vendors which included a Scentsy, Crosses for America, shirts and sports-related items.
