1704 – 1st successful US newspaper; published in Boston by John Campbell.

1817 – 1st US school for deaf (Hartford, Connecticut)

1864 – Battle of Plymouth, North Carolina.

1912 – 1st unofficial gold record (Al Jolson’s “Ragging the Baby To Sleep”)

2013 – 15 peoples are killed and 100 are injured after a fertilizer plant explodes in West, Texas.
