RALEIGH – The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation. The stories below are also featured in NCDOT Now, the department’s weekly newscast.
NC State Fair Begins; Construction Underway in the Area
People from across the state are heading to Raleigh for the NC State Fair – which means a lot of fun and a lot of traffic.
For people driving to the fair, it is important to know the NCDOT is making improvements to the area, so things will look different than last year at this time for vehicles and pedestrians.
“You’ll notice different traffic patterns around the fair grounds and coming to and from the fair grounds as well that weren’t in place last year. So be on the lookout for new traffic patterns, be on the look out for law enforcement directing people to the right place,” Division Engineer Brandon Jones.
The fair runs through Oct. 22. Make sure to visit DriveNC.gov before you head out.
NC By Train to NC State Fair and Canes Games
NC By Train is making its annual stop at the State Fair. Trains will make four stops at the fairgrounds.
NC By Train can also get you close to the action for the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes’ season is underway – and you can take the train to Cary or Raleigh, hassle free, and then catch a bus or rideshare to PNC arena.
To book your ticket, go to NCByTrain.org.
