East Bladen high school football team will travel to Southwest Edgecombe Friday for a 2A state playoff game.  At this time, Bladen Sports Network plans to be there to broadcast the game.  Been an interesting experience.
When I think of football playoffs, my mind wanders back to the 50s and 60s when many of our teams played 6 man football and they were pretty good.  Bladenboro, Clarkton, White Oak and Tar Heel played with 6 and I remember Clarkton and Bladenboro playing for a state championship.  Think Clarkton won, not sure about the Bulldogs of Bladenboro.
I also think of Charlie Regan, Elizabethtown coach who did it his way and was very successful in the 60s and 70s.  There were some good coaches all across the county, Bladen Central, East Arcadia and Spaulding Monroe included.
What a mess in Paris.  Hope the ‘bad folks’ are captured and dealt with as they should be.
Can you imagine hoodlums prepared to ‘blow themselves up’ to make a point.
I am happy I live in Bladen County and if I was not happy, I would move to a place where I could be.  I do realize we are all different…
Phyllis Diller quotes;
Never go to bed mad, stay up and fight.
I want my children to have all the things I couldn’t afford.  Then I want to move in with them.
The reason women don’t play football is because 11 of them would never wear the same outfit in public.
