Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Santa (Christmas) is tough competition…expect our BladenOnline numbers to be down for the past week….but still the best around.

Looking back and ahead.

Would have thought there would have been some resolution (?) to the Lennon Lacy situation. FBI called in over a year ago. Must be many interviews, etc. Maybe in 2016. Lacy was the young man found hanging in Bladenboro in August of 2014. His death was initially ruled a suicide, however his family ask for further investigation and FBI took over in December of the same year.

Bladen County commissioners were advised the local jail was not up to standards. Grand juries, state inspectors and a Superior Judge agreed and local commissioners decided to build a new jail. Hopefully, work will begin soon. The cost? In the range of $17, $18 million range, then must be equipped. Will be lucky to build and equip for less than $20M. (My guess….nothing official) Does not include price of site. Fortunately, the county used a site they owned.

Still no resolution to school issues, plural, Issues….Consolidation, some old dilapidated buildings.. Waiting for Board of Ed to make the first move, and with little or no money to work with.

The last day of 2015 is near. Time to begin to pull together tax records to file with Uncle Sam.

Another week of vacation for local students and teachers.

High temps forecast in the 70’s for the next several days. Surely, this must be one of the warmest December’s ever. Beginning on New Year’s Day, high temps are expected to drop to 50’s and then to the 40’s later next week.

Deal with other’s faults as gently as if they were your own.

We accomplish in proportion to what we attempt.

Happiness is found along the way, not at the end of the journey.
