Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingWho do you trust, really trust to look out for your best interest, business person, politician, friend, foe, anyone?

I watch “Cops” sometimes after Sanford and Sons, Fred G. Sanford. Don’t want to be a cop. I appreciate them more. If I were one, would be concerned I would go ‘over the line’ with some of the ‘bad dudes’ they deal with. And, today, seems everyone has a phone and every move is being recorded.

Still enjoy sports, golf, major league baseball, college sports, NASCAR, NFL, etc. I am interested at how bad behavior is dealt with at the pro level. Saw a young man on video, punching a young lady in the face, broke several facial bones. The potential NFL first round draft pick slipped to the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round, probably costing him millions. Reckon he learned a lesson? Another reminder that our every move is likely being recorded by someone using a cell phone.

Wonder if a stimulus deal is still in the works for our national leaders? Every few years, billions of dollars are made available to national, state and sometimes local governments to improve infrastructure. Keep hearing it is being talked about in DC. Would add substantially to the national debt, but no seems to care about the debt. It is really needed, roads, bridges, upgrade of rail and air transportation. Guess we will know in the next few months. Jobs are usually a big issue as well, but employment rate is low, in fact some businesses are having problems finding workers.

The Bladen County Public Library building in Elizabethtown was the product of such a project in the 70s.
