Continuing to follow Cade Hancock, young Bladen County golfer who Is playing in the 2017 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship event. He is participating in the 16-18 year old division in the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida tournament that has attracted about 150 golfers from around the world. At the halfway point in the 72 hole event, Cade is tied for 46th place after rounds of 79 and 76 – 155 total. He tees off at 9:09 AM this morning and his foursome includes a golfer from New Hampshire, Puerto Rico and Paraguay. The low score at the half-way point is 142 shared by 2 golfers, a 143, 3 at 144 and 3 more with a 145 total.
A good round today would likely put him in the top 50 that would be playing for the championship.
Would be difficult to think the weather in Florida, or anywhere, could be better than here in Bladen County, NC yesterday. A perfect day, weatherwise.
If you come to Bladen to commit a crime, be prepared to spend some time, in our new Bladen County jail, opening soon.
