Thoughts While ShavingRain, rain go away, come again another day.  But, better us than Texas!

Can’t imagine the pain by all in Houston and surrounding areas.

For the most part, when we have a storm, we have lots of wind, we have had more rain than needed, maybe 10 or 12 inches on an occasion or two, but never, that I recall, 35 to 55 inches of rain.

Pray for relief for those in the midst of it all.

Mark your calendar for September 8, 10 AM, the date of the dedication service for the opening of the new Bladen County Detention Center.

Labor Day marks the unofficial kick-off for many seeking public office, mostly in municipal elections in odd years (2017).  Some interesting local races shaping up, more to come.

We travel through life, some busy making a living, some volunteering, supporting this cause or that, kinda doing our own thing, but life is just a cycle and sooner or later we begin to look for a place to move out of the fast lane and look for a quiet, shady place to park and watch the traffic go by.

Crops are being harvested, most of this years corn crop is in the bin, peanuts may be next.  for the most part, It’s been a good year for farmers, with a slight exception for blueberry growers.
