Thoughts While Shaving
Looking back, a busy few days.  Volunteers busy gathering supplies and providing them to hurricane victims.  Churches throughout the county working side by side, even truckloads of supplies arriving from as far away as Elizabethtown, Ky.  One of the busiest places around has been the old Paul H. Sessoms Wholesale building near the courthouse, in Elizabethtown, NC.
For years the building was home to a wholesale grocery business, including Jack’s Cookies and Wise Potato Chips, now the perfect place for stocking and providing supplies to hurricane victims.  Volunteers are running the show.
Then there were bicyclist from across the state, spending an evening in Elizabethtown, the annual Mountains to the Coast bicycle ride.  Seem to go off without a hitch, good planning makes it appear so.
Just a few of the activities in the area, there were others, a busy week, and much remains to be done.
And while those activities were going on, locals were attempting to get back on a regular schedule, including school activities.  It’s been anything but normal over the past 2 or 3 weeks.
It’s Sunday,  Time to spend some time reflecting, giving thanks and preparing to continue the recovery process.
Our prime purpose in life is to help others.
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
Never worry about numbers.  Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you.  Mother Teresa
