Keep an eye on the sky for the next few days….conditions are right for severe winds, with gusts up to 45 MPH….
I see folks that appear to really enjoy working around the house…in the yard and shrubbery….not my thing…Don’t know what my thing is….smile…
Another reminder of a couple of Bladen We Care fundraisers….The Gala on Friday, April 17 at The Venue at White Lake and the annual golf tournament at Vineyard Golf at White Lake on Thursday, April 23.
Local folks falling through the cracks in our medical system reap the rewards of the two fundraisers…So much hurt around us and many with limited resources…Bladen We Care helps Bladen County residents on a short term basis…
And a reminder for Relay For Life on May 8 & 9 at Elizabethtown Middle School. The purple commodes with potted flowers apparently has proven to be good fundraiser….Been there and done that…
I shudder when I think where Bladen County would be without volunteers who will step up and organize these worthy events….
Special Olympics is upcoming shortly as well…..Help is needed…More info coming…
Without volunteers, there probably would not be Dixie Youth activities…or White Lake Water Festival..schedule for mid May…or a Dublin Peanut Festival in the fall…
If you could change one thing in our area to make it a better place to live, work and play, what would it be??? Are you willing to step up and help make Bladen Better…
Oh, we hear from the whiners…about all that’s bad..but they sit on the sidelines and whine…Time to stop the whining and get involved…There is something you can do….Volunteer in your church…visitors are needed…..
On my stump this day….smile….but the truth is welcome….or is it?
Volunteers are love in motion.
Kindness, like a boomerang, always returns.
Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.
Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer.
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time: they just have the heart.
