The recent Congressional election fiasco, moved the GenX issue off the front page, for a while….

Received nearly 2 inches of rainfall over the past couple of days.  This year may have been one of the wettest ever.  We normally average about an inch a week, year round (48 to 52 inches).  The Wilmington area recently broke the century mark for rainfall in a year, over 100 inches.  My guess, we are not close to that amount.

In Saturday NFL play, Cleveland Browns 17, Denver Broncos 16 and Houston Texans over NY Jets 29-22.  More action today.

News headline….in a recent Washington Times article…The national debt rose more than $1.2 trillion in the fiscal year that just concluded on September 30…..Early this morning, the US Debt Clock indicated we are approaching $22 trillion.  Neither political party seems to be concerned…and that is not new news…..Both parties appear ready to raise the spending cap, despite their usual election time rhetoric.

Had a friend share his father’s thoughts about bankruptcy in the 1920s, how banks closed and deposits were wiped out….can’t imagine.

Hopefully, laws have been written so that never happens again…many more safeguards built into the system….

A reminder of Christmas Cantatas today and tonight at churches throughout the area.  For those looking for a place to go, you are invited to Wesley’s Chapel UMC at 6 PM for ‘Prince of Heaven.’ The church is located on Peanut Plant Road southwest of Elizabethtown, maybe a 3 or 4 minute drive from downtown.

My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashion or modern, is very simple: loving others.  Come to think of it, whey do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?   Bob Hope

Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.   Charles M. Schultz

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind.  To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have a real spirit of Christmas.  Calvin Coolidge
