Voting begins today in the Special Primary for the 9th U.S. Congressional District. Early voting in Bladen County is at the Board of Elections office behind the Elizabethtown Post Office.

Not sure if I was born to early or to late, as I deal with technology.
Few things have changed more than how we go about ‘burying’ the deceased. Years ago, we would sit up with the body in the house, a couple of days later we would have a long, sad funeral and bury in the church cemetery, Today, a death, a few days later a funeral, a celebration of life we call it, and a private burial or a cremation. Nothing wrong with then or now, just different.
As I grow older, seems I am spending more time at such events.
Think of the Yogi Berra comments about going to funerals of friends. If I don’t go to their funeral I can’t expect them to come to mine…
Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on the front door forever.
