Today (Friday) … Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny with a high near 76. Tonight, partly cloudy with a low about 53. Saturday, partly sunny with a high near 78 … A peek at the weekend more of the same … Sunday (Church Day), mostly sunny with a high near 81. No mention of rain…

Farmers moving around, huge equipment on the roadways … patience…

Baseball fans … Whiteville native MacKenzie Gore had a good night pitching yesterday afternoon, but Nationals lost to the Dodgers 2-1 … Gore pitched 6 strong innings, fastball in the mid to upper 90s … His teammates played well on defense, but could not score … Nationals manager praised Gore for his solid outing, said the team needs to create more offense …

Bladen County’s population was 29,606 in 2020 … dropped slightly since that date … Medium income (2020) was $40,476 and there were 15,131 household units in the county…

The doctor’s office is a great place to re-up with folks from around the county…

A state agency news release … sometime in the recent past reported “about 1 in 6 people released from N.C. prisons in 2023 were homeless.” State is attempting to cut that number in half by 2030.
