Remember Easter Sunday as a youngster? I do … I sometimes had a new shirt, mom made from a feed bag to go with my bib overalls … I was one dressed up, happy young man…
Attendance at Easter Sunday services usually some of the best attended year round … If you cannot attend, pick from numerous churches on Facebook or some other similar hookup to hear the Easter story.
Some nights my mind ‘drifts’ away … At church, we often sing … “When We All Get Together, What a day of rejoicing that will be” … My ‘warped’ mind begin to think about all the hate, well dislike in the world, especially in the political arenas … How one groups condemns the other, to the point of hate. While we sing, “When We All Get Together,” might want to examine the hate we have in our hearts … that didn’t just begin … Disagree all you want, I have to stop and think about it … “Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself.” Yes, that includes Republicans, Democrats and Unaffiliated and those who do not vote. Don’t think areas will be designated for various groups…
Remember Jeanne Robertson, the tall Graham, NC native who was a Miss North Carolina at 19 years of age … She has spent a great part of her life as an after dinner speaker … Great wisdom but good comedy … She often responds to her husband as “left brain” … Not sure why I thought of that … Well, maybe too many of us operate with less than all we have been given…
