Thoughts While Shaving for December 1

Spread the love

December 1, 2019 … can you believe?

All around, the sounds and sights of Christmas … and this afternoon, the Annual Elizabethtown Christmas Parade begins at 3 p.m. … The Murchison twins, Larrell and Farrell are grand marshalls. … See our news page for a complete update of local activities.

Seems Christmas trees and other decorations are on display, everywhere you go. … It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Football scores from yesterday’s action:
UNC 41 – NC State 19
Clemson 38 – South Carolina 3
Tulsa 49 – ECU 24
App State 48 – Troy 13
Syracuse 39 – Wake Forest 30
Duke 27 – Miami Florida 17
Auburn 48 – Alabama 45
LSU 50 – Texas A&M 7

A full slate of NFL games today…

Ever have a crazy dream … wake up tired and hungry? That was the type night I had.

Think back … mmmm … a long time ago, as a youngster … this would have been the time our family would go into the woods and make a serious decision … select a Christmas tree … bring it home and begin making decorations. … Basic needs … white paper, scissors, crayons and glue.

Had concerns about how Santa could come down a chimney so small … but he never failed to make his presence known … he always left crumbs, after apparently sampling mom’s freshly baked cake or pie.

Today, small trees in the nearby woods are safe, very few if any cut their own tree anymore.

“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” Charles Dickens

Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection…

If you have no charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.
