Stock Market, Early Voting and Weather are front and center…

Stock market is in free-fall mode … and best I can tell … no one to blame. The cause appears to be coronavirus that began in the far east and is spreading around the world. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 29,551 on Valentine’s Day, yesterday was down to 25,767 or about 13 to 14% drop. (if my math is correct)

If memory is correct, the last time the stock market fell this much and this fast was in late 2007, 2008 and into 2009. … Painful, but this, too, will not last forever…

Early voting ends mid afternoon tomorrow (Saturday) at the 3 one stop voting sites … Bladenboro, East Arcadia and Elizabethtown. Primary election is Tuesday, March 3. … Vote … please vote for the candidates of your choice. … If you don’t vote, do not complain about the outcome. … For more info, check with the Bladen County Board of Elections…

Our recent weather has been all over the chart … freezing, 50s and into the 70s. … Typical for this area, this time of the year … a problem for blueberry growers. … Temps were below freezing last night…

Today, Sunny with a high in the mid 50s and breezy … gusts up to 25 mph. Tonight, mostly clear, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 34 and windy, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Sunny Saturday, high in the low 50s. … Clear Saturday night … low around 26 degrees.

Average high and low for February … 63 and 34 … March high and low for Bladen County … 71 and 42…

One more issue continue to hear about … drop in attendance at many churches in the area … sad … Remember as a youngster … ‘don’t just send your children to church … but take you children to church’…

Church signs observed…

“Prayer – Wireless Access to God With No Roaming Fee.”

“Tomorrow’s Forecast … God Reigns and The Son Shines”

“Church Shopping? We’re Open Sundays”
