It’s Sunday, January 2, 2022 and Church Day…

Appears to be a new concern by many about the COVID-19 issue … NC info … 19,174 newly reported cases as of 10:40 p.m. Friday, December 31 … 22.9% were positive, 19,426 deaths attributed to the disease since the pandemic began. Good news, if there is any good news, is 73% of adult population has been vaccinated with at least one dose and 69% of adult population in North Carolina are fully vaccinated. 190 new cases reported from December 18-31 in Bladen County…

And locally, have several friends suffering now, this date.

Kicked off the New Year with a fun ‘little’ get-to-gether … last evening … I did remember social distancing, most of the time…

Had a huge crowd in Bladenboro at noontime yesterday … many masked up, at the old school fundraiser … collards, black-eyed peas and chicken ‘n rice … other good food as well…

Lots of sports activity, locally, statewide and around the nation and world … Football bowl games, college basketball, golf, and lots more … Regular season NFL action today including a game in Green Bay vs the Vikings … The forecast is for temps in the single-digits at kickoff time … could be the coldest game ever played at Lambeau Field … The coldest game on this date was in 2017 … 10 degrees at kickoff time. Green Bay lost in miserable fashion, 16-0.

Weather has been good over the holidays … but change is on the way … Showers and and possibly a thunderstorm today and windy, could gust as high as 28 mph and high near 77. 100% chance of rain tonight, windy and a low near 48. Monday, more of the same with temps falling to around 40 by 5 p.m. Monday night, clear with a low near 26…

Summarizing … Temps dropping from mid to upper 70s today to below freezing Monday night … bundle up…
