Thoughts While ShavingHot weather is the norm in July and this appears to be a typical July, Labor Day is 58 days away.

UNC Pembroke’s Foundation Board is meeting at Lu Mil Vineyard, Sunday, July 31st. Bladen County Alumni and Friends are honoring Chancellor Robin Gary Cummings and Mrs. Rebecca Cummings from 4-6 PM.

It is nice to have facilities to host such events in our area, and we now have several.

I enjoy scrolling through Facebook posts and occasionally do the same on LinkedIn. Recently I spent time on LinkedIn, seeing the names of friends and acquaintances, many from days gone by. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

With the Olympics approaching, our thoughts turn to sports and current events. Serena Williams captured the Wimbledon championship…again, her 22 major title and the British Open Golf Tournament begins Thursday and continues through Sunday, July 14-17.

If the election were being held today, Trump or Clinton? If neither, who? Bet the Libertarian tickets receives more votes than usual, probably no chance of winning, but a ‘no’ vote for major party candidates.

The strongest political organization I am aware of appears to be the NRA.
