Another 1.3 inches of rainfall yesterday, according to the NWS reporting station at the Curt Brown Airport near Elizabethtown … added to previous day totals, best I can tell, 5 to 6 inches so far this week. Forecast for today has dropped to a 20% chance of rain, with a high temp near 78 … 30% chance of rain tonight. Thursday … a 40% chance, 60% probability on Friday and Saturday…

Corn and peanut crop looking good … blueberry season winding down…

Can’t help but think about plowing and planting with a horse or mule and a one row planter, the way it was done years ago. As much rain as we have had recently, the animal and the person in charge would be ‘knee deep’ in mud, attempting to plant in or near the low lands…

Someone sent a cute joke recently … I will shorten it up…

“Leroy went to church, got in line for prayer. … Preacher asked him what he wanted him to pray for. “Preacher”, he said, “I need prayer for my hearing”. Preacher put a finger on one of his ears and his other hand on the top of his head and prayed and prayed, as the congregation looked on. … After a few minutes, the preacher stood back and asked Leroy how his hearing was. He answered, “I don’t know. It ain’t til next week.”

Don’t usually repeat jokes, but I enjoyed, hope you did. Anything to get our mind off all that is going on around us … and around the world.

Local governments that have not approved budgets for 2020-21 budget have a short time to get it done. … New budgets must be approved prior to July 1 … and we begin to receive tax notices by the end of July or shortly thereafter … and, July 15 is delayed deadline for paying state and federal taxes for the last fiscal year. … Piling on, but all due to the virus and state and federal deadlines ‘pushed back’.

General election just about 20 weeks away…

Presidential quotes shared sometime in the past…

“If one morning I walked on top of the water across the Potomac River, the headline that afternoon would read: ‘President Can’t Swim.” – Lyndon Johnson

“If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?” – Abraham Lincoln

“I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.” – Ronald Reagan
