Thinking about the recent rain … Not sure who is the happiest … the farmer or the banker … probably both…
Saw a couple of fields of tobacco recently … usually ‘scarce as hen’s teeth’ … in this area … Think back to the 50s, 60s and 70s … best cash crop around … What is the #1 cash crop in the area today … I am told blueberries … so far as row crops are concerned … Pickin’ blueberries or cropping tobacco??? … Prefer berries … They are delicious.
But, nothing better than a watermelon while croppin’ tobacco … even if it’s hot…
Hot weather upcoming … Highs for the next week or so will be in the upper 80s early, low 90s later. Today, a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy and a 30% chance of rain … Tonight, more of the same with a low near 68. Looking ahead to Sunday, a 60% chance of rain and warm.
