I enjoy BOL sports page … good articles and Ken Armstrong pics … great combination. I encourage you to check it out…

Congrats to all participants … High School, Jayvees and Dixie Youth…

Bladen County Commissioners meet this p.m. … Looking at the agenda, appears to be a busy session planned…

We are so fortunate … high school sports, Dixie Youth baseball, Vineyard Golf, White Lake, Jones Lake … and more…

Bladen blueberries are the best … delicious … despite some damage to some farms during the recent hail storm…

Remember picking huckleberries, blackberries, briarberries … growing wild … wonder if any remain? Seems we were often treated for poison oak and poison ivy … Home made remedies … My mom could apply all that was needed to make us as good as new … No need to go to the doctor…

See so many areas where timber is being harvested … the entire area is being clear cut … Will be interesting to see if cleared for farming, developed or re-seeded.

My grandpa Hester shared with me how he, as a young man, worked logging … pay was in the 50 cents a day range … Now, much conversation about how people not interested in working, despite jobs paying as high as $15 an hour … A sign of the times…

Sitting on the sidelines is not nearly as interesting as being involved…
