How long since you saw a kite flying? Honestly, I haven’t seen one in years … Remember, making a kite? They were also available at retail outlets … Just needed a ball of tobacco twine, a homemade tail and a breezy day. Not sure they are even available … It was fun for a time … ’til the string broke and it crashed…
As I travel throughout the county, I see Rescue Squad buildings … for the most part, no longer in service … The need for faster service 24 hours a day and tougher requirements for volunteers, too much to overcome … Paid service is good … expensive…
March 30 … Today is Doctor’s Day … 1st observed March 30, 1933. Remember when babies were delivered at home? OK … unless something did not go as planned. When was the last time you heard of a doctor making a home visit? Bet it’s been a while…
Ever have a desire to seek public office? I did, ‘nearly 50 years ago’ … I enjoyed … 8 interesting years. Thankful for the opportunity … Kinda got it out of my system … Did not seek re-election. Sometimes the ‘heat’ was a little tough … Yes, I would do it again, if I were about 50 years younger…
