May 1 … MayDay … Good to be home and back on the job … Off a couple of days to celebrate the marriage of our only granddaughter. Dr. Morgan Hester and Will Clark were married after about 5 years of steady dating … A large crowd, many from Bladen & Johnston counties, plus others from across the state and across state lines … witnessed the marriage in the Fuquay Varina and Holly Springs area … Great time, happy to be home.
Oh yes, the weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony, conducted by her uncle … Rev. Dicky Cain, formerly of Bladenboro, now a Tennessee resident. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rick Hester of Smithfield and Mr. and Mr. Stephen Clark of Elizabethtown.
Morgan and Will are on their honeymoon … will return later this week and settle in Elizabethtown. She begins her new position as dentist at the Dr. Dave Allen office next Monday, May 8th, if all goes as planned. Will is employed in Bladenboro by a large peanut buyer, headquartered in eastern Virginia.
A successful fundraiser Saturday night at East Bladen High School. Dan Allen presided over the reverse-raffle … The big winner was the East Bladen athletic department … Understand more participants (donors) than ever.
If you haven’t been to the Holly Springs/Fuquay Varina area in the past few years … The area has grown, people have multiplied and I did not handle it well … Missed one of the wedding functions … That’s what old age can do for you…
