Speaking of sports … MacKenzie Gore, former Whiteville Wolfpacker, now a left-handed pitcher for the Washington Nationals, is playing well … His last outing was Tuesday vs. Texas Rangers … He pitched 5 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 earned runs, had 7 strikeouts and gave up one walk … but was the losing pitcher … Final score was Texas 7, Nationals 1. Texas starter Jon Gray allowed only three singles over 8 innings for the Texas victory.

President Biden is scheduled to visit Wilmington, NC this afternoon … He is facing former President Donald Trump in this year’s presidential political contest. Some reports indicate he will also visit Charlotte today.
