Wonder how long the pandemic will continue in our area? Better, but still troublesome…

I remember years and years ago … some family members worked at Bladenboro Cotton Mill … one of the few industries in the area … Provided financial security for years for many … From time to time would hear some talk about speeding up the process … to produce more … No doubt some of that continues today … even with some professionals … Producing more, at the same cost … produces morale problems from time to time … Can’t do but so much!

Friend shared info from a member of the N.C. Legislature … a list of ‘goodies’ in the state budget for local projects…
• Funds for repairs and renovations at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office training facility.
• $1.5 million for the North Carolina FFA Center at White Lake, in operation since 1928.
• More than $15 million for capital needs at area community colleges.
All such funds are welcomed…

Picked up a few leaves recently … burned them … Best I can tell, 2 more for every one cleaned up … Not complaining … not likely to change till all fall from the tree.

Speaking of leaves … some beautiful trees, colorful trees in many areas of Bladen County…

Thursday night NFL game … New England Patriots at Atlanta Falcons … game time 8:20 p.m.

Weather forecast for today … 20% chance of rain between 2 & 3 p.m. today … Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 78 and windy. Mostly cloudy tonight with a low around 48 and windy, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Friday, partly cloudy, gradually becoming sunny … high near 59 and windy … brrrrrr … chilly…

Temp at 4:45 a.m. today … 55 degrees.
