thoughts while shavingHappy Thanksgiving Day … Hope you are having a fun day with family and friends … good food, good health … good times … Just remember there are too many at the other end of the spectrum…

In our ‘neck of the woods’ we have had much needed rain … Based on info from the local National Weather Service, about 3 inches of precipitation over the past two or three days … a slow drizzle, little run-off, good soaking rain…

Done a little research … wettest winter season in over 150 years was between December 1997 and February 1998 … over 23 inches of rain recorded in the Wilmington area … Much attributed to El Niño events … Not expecting anything like that, but some research indicates for the first time in 4 years, El Niño has or will return and could be a factor in upcoming winter weather across North and South Carolina…

One thing for sure … If you are traveling over the next few hours, you will have company … Pack your patience…

Sure would be good if the halt in hostilities in and around Israel and that part of the world could be extended, indefinitely … as well as other ‘hot spots’.

For far too many, far and wide, just another day…

Our small immediate family will be together for a few hours … ages range from 3 months to mid-80s, some meeting for the first time … Exciting … Some travel involved, none on the major roadways, no flying … We will be traveling, for the most part, the backroads … the less traveled roadways … But, none are 100% safe … all used by humans…

Thanksgiving Day weather forecast for southeastern N.C. … Sunny with a high near 60 … Increasing clouds tonight with a low near 41. Friday, partly sunny with a high near 66 … Actually, a similar forecast for the coming days … Maybe a little cooler near the early part of next week … Low 31 degrees Tuesday night…

“I came from a family where gravy is considered a beverage.” Erma Bombeck

“Thanksgiving is a time of togetherness and gratitude.” Nigel Hamilton

“Let our lives be full of Thanks and Giving…”
