Robert Hester, Founder of BladenOnline.comThinking back over the past few hours and days … so much to digest…

A few hours ago, the wind was howling, several inches of rainfall, to much in fact, or so it seemed in a short time frame. That was Friday … 24 hours later, a beautiful day … many working hard to clean up after the storm … and a beautiful wedding at Historic Trinity Church, on East Broad Street, Elizabethtown … A perfect setting for the marriage of Eddie Nye and Sharon Simmons … to begin life anew as husband and wife … followed by a celebration of the occasion by family and friends on the shores of White Lake … Almost more than one could digest…

Ever been inside the old, very old Trinity church … a perfect setting for a wedding or any other form of worship…

College football scores from yesterday, many ranked in the top 20…
Clemson 30 – NC State 20
Wake Forest 31 – Florida State 21
UNC 41 – Virginia Tech 10
Duke 38 – Virginia 17

Other results:
Georgia 26 – Missouri 22
Alabama 49 – Arkansas 26
Ohio State 49 – Rutgers 10
USC 42 – Arizona State 25
Michigan 27 – Iowa 14

Still more scores of interest:
Appalachian State 40 – Citadel 0
East Carolina 48 – South Florida 28

A full slate of NFL games … this weekend…
Cardinals (1-2) at Panthers (1-2) 4:05 p.m.

Church Day…

Weather … Increasing clouds, with a high near 74. A slight chance of showers tonight. Cloudy with a low around 53, windy. Monday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 64 and winds gusting in the 22 mph range.

Usually, a frost by the end of October or early November…

One issue I am having a problem dismissing … If the state is the owner of the lakes in the state, including White Lake, and all others have public access, why not White Lake?

Enjoy the day…
