Four County EMC Annual meeting will be held Monday evening in Kenansville. Always draws a big crowd of member-owners. They feed and give-a-way a retired pick-up truck. Every attendee expects to win the truck. I am carrying a driver, just in case. The co-op story is worth telling again and again. Without some dedicated folks years ago, not sure when rural areas across America would have ever enjoyed electricity or phone service.
I remember the old oil fired lamps … our more affluent neighbors enjoyed one or more Aladdin lamps. I remember when we received electricity many, many years ago. A light with a pull string for on and off.
