A strong thunderstorm moved through the area late last evening, dumping 1.5 and 2 inches of rain on the area, mostly between 10:30 and 11 p.m.
Today’s forecast…Mostly sunny, with a high near 85 and gusts in the 15 mph range. Mostly clear tonight, low near 60. Friday is sunny with a high near 81, and windy, gusts as high as 17 mph.
High temps throughout the weekend and into midweek, mostly in the low to mid-80s and lows in the low 60s. A nice break from the recent high in the upper 80s to low 90s.
I think I must have slept through the storm…
Thursday night football… Vikings (0-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-0). Kick-off scheduled for 8:15 p.m. The game will be on NFL Network and Amazon Prime Video.
There is a full slate of games on Sunday. Carolina Panthers play Monday night… vs. New Orleans in Charlotte, game time 7:15 p.m.
Jayvee high school football action today and this evening, varsity action Friday evening.
Apparently, Nationals pitcher Mackenzie Gore has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to blisters on his left hand. His last start was September 8th.
Still no NC budget. Legislature apparently struggling with gambling issue… News report indicates it is the single issue to be decided prior to the budget approval… Some reports indicate the NC House does not have the votes to approve yet.
Social Security COLA increase is expected to be in the 3.2% range… nothing has been approved at this time… To be determined.
A short ride through portions of Bladen late yesterday indicates farmers are busy harvesting…
Hurricanes, earthquakes, crimes, and politics… other than those issues, there’s not much to report on.
