Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Days are shorter, as you would expect as we move to late summer, early fall. FYI … Sunrise this a.m. at 7:04, sunset 7:31 p.m. Compared with July 20th … first day of summer …. sunrise 6:29 a.m. and sunset 8:16 p.m.

Checking the rain gauge at the National Weather Service at the local airport … about a tenth of an inch of rain … over the past 24 to 48 hours.

Today’s forecast … Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 85. Chance of rain is 60% with new rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms … More of the same for the next few days with temps climbing to upper 80s.

Thanks for replies to recent “Thoughts” … mostly from senior citizens…

One of my replies about yesterday’s thoughts talked about prices for food, gas and ‘smokes’ from yesteryear … I remember bread (Holsum or Merita) 19 cents a loaf, steak less than a dollar a pound, gasoline in the upper 20s to mid 30s cents per gallon … but there were more ‘gas wars’ then than now … and all the major brands of cigarettes, 19 cents a pack …. Guess we all forget the minimum wage was ’bout 50 cents an hour … Thought when it went to $1 an hour I would be rich … Still short by a long shot … but still working on it…

Stock market had another ‘down day’ yesterday … ‘Crap’ happens…

Anyone seen or heard a political ad recently? How ’bout a call related to warranty on your vehicle? … or someone doing a political poll?…

Only about 2 more months for political ads … Election is November 3, least you forget. Early voting soon … I encourage all to vote as I do … for the individual you prefer … regardless of what others say or think…

I don’t approve of political jokes … seen too many of them get elected.

Republicans and Democrats are like divorced parents who care more about getting the kids to hate the other one than they are their well-being.

The consensus after the election is that 100% of Americans think 50% of Americans have lost their minds.
