It’s Sunday, and after church, a day for relaxation.
A few reminders:
A ground breaking ceremony is planned for Wednesday, August 1st at the FFA Camp, a new addition.
Fundraiser for Joey Taylor at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM. Baked Ziti plates, $10 each.
Stand for Farmers, No Farm-No Food signs are popping up all around. They will likely be competing for space when more political signs are added to the landscape.
Cade Hancock continues his tournament play. Recently in California, more recently in South Carolina. Playing well, making a name for himself on the golf trail.
Sincere Smith is seeing limited action playing for the Yankees West team in the Gulf Coast League. He has played in 6 games. Not uncommon for lower drafts, many times the real action comes after league play where lots of teaching goes on.
MacKenzie Gore is ’rounding into shape’ after a couple of trips on the DL due to blisters on his pitching hand. He is 1-4 for the season, last outing gave up 2 earned runs in 5 innings, recorded 7 KOs and dropped his ERA to 4.19.

Former Fairmont HS golfer William McGirt played well last week and made the cut this week in the Canadian tournament. Currently ranked 125th in PGA earnings. Needs to finish no lower for the year if he holds on to his full exemption for next year.
